How Denver Open Acupuncture Works

Denver Open Acupuncture is a community clinic providing treatment in a group setting. Patients are treated sitting comfortably on a recliner situated so that they can benefit from the collective energetic field that is created when several people receive acupuncture at the same time. This arrangement also allows for groups (family, friends) to schedule their treatments together. The group setting does not diminish the individualization of patient care and treatments are customized for each patient with respect to time, needle placement, herbal prescription (when appropriate) and ancillary care recommendations (when appropriate).

As more than one patient can receive treatment simultaneously, the cost per treatment can be greatly reduced and this decreased cost allows for an increased number of visits in which we can make much better progress. Both acute and chronic conditions respond best when treatments are given at least a couple of times per week in the early weeks of treatment, depending on the particular patient. To that end, after the first few sessions, your practitioner will let you know how often she would like you to come in for treatment with the goal of ‘getting you better and getting you gone’.

The cost of treatment ranges from $15 to $40 per treatment, depending on your household income with an additional $10 charge at the first session to cover time spent in taking your history and establishing you as a patient.
